Worcester City v Bemerton Heath Harlequins - Saturday 24th September 2005

F.A. Cup Second Qualifying Round

Worcester City v Bemerton Heath Harlequins - 24/9/2005

Little known West country outfit, Bemerton Heath Harlequins, visited the Lane for a second qualifying round FA Cup tie dreaming of a large payout and cup glory. Instead they found themselves on the receiving end of a seven nil drubbing as their day out ended in a big defeat.

It was a case of lambs to the slaughter as a revitalised City striking duo of Leon Kelly and Adam Webster each scored a brace with other goals from Liam Macdonald, Nick Colley and newcomer, Sam Wedgbury. Seven nil wins don't come along too often so this was one for City fans to savour.

Liam Macdonald (far left) has just scored the opener for City after being put through by Adam Webster.

City think they've scored after Bemerton's No.8 heads the ball away. Despite being well behind the goalline the linesman (far left) keeps his flag down

Nick Colley (centre) scoring Worcester's second goal.

A welcome win for City to make up for the loss of two points at Moor Green the previous Saturday after an early Webster goal was cancelled out late in the game.

Attendance - 579. Goalscorers: McDonald (14); Colley (33); Webster (45 & 52); Kelly (60 & 75); Wedgbury (66)
